Mycological Society of America Student Section

2016 Chair
2015 Vice Chair
2013-2014 Secretary

I helped initiate the MSA Student Section together with other graduate students from various universities. During my service period student membership in the society increased by ~30%. In addition to fundraising efforts which raised ~3,000$, we organized and hosted several symposia, mixers, and professional development events at our annual meetings. To connect students to each other and to raise awareness of opportunities, we developed social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We welcome new students interested in getting involved and can be reached via email at  msastudents@msafungi.org.
